Wokingham & East Berkshire Camera Club (WEBCC) provides a rich mix of competitions, workshops, lectures, slide presentation and digital projections. All skill levels are catered for and the club welcomes all photographers with a range of experiences - from complete beginners, looking to learn from other members - to seasoned photographers.
Whilst the club is relatively new to Wokingham it was formed much earlier in 1989 as the East Berkshire Photographic Society and operated for many years in the Bracknell area. The Society's move to Wokingham took place in 2005 and coincided with the opening of the Cornerstone building of All Saints Church. In 2006 Society changed its name to the current one. The move has proved popular and there has been a growth in the club's membership.
Membership gives the opportunity to learn from others the principles of taking and making good photographs. Friendly and informal competitions with feedback from expert and independent judges provide a perfect means of getting informed opinion on an individual's photographic work thus helping to improve his or her photographic skills.
WEBCC is a member of the Southern Photographic Federation and as such participates in a number of inter-club competitions using members' work.
If you are looking to join a local camera club, WEBCC membership has the right mix of friendly informality together with a high level of technical skills. Prospective members are welcome to come along to any meeting to learn more about the club and see if it is right for them.
