The Awards

Internal Club Competitions

  1. Each Internal Club competition has two sections, a Print Section and a Projected Digital Image (PDI) section..
  2. The winner in each of the Print and PDI sections, in each Category, will be the member who scores the highest aggregate score for the four competitions (prints max score = 80).
  3. In the event of a tie, the member with the highest number of images scoring 10 or 9.5 or 9.... etc wins.
  4. The winner of the Advanced Print category is awarded the Odds Trophy. 
  5. The winner of the Advanced PDI category is awarded the Muggridge Shield.
  6. The winner of the Intermediate Print category is awarded a Certificate of Merit.
  7. The winner of the Intermediate PDI category is awarded a Certificate of Merit.

Annual Competition 

In the Advanced category GOLD, Silver and Bronze awards, plus some Highly Commended Awards will be made for each theme.

There will be Gold, Silver, Bronze and Highly Commended Awards made for the Intermediate Open themed competition

The Three Print Challenge Competition

  1. The winner, in each category, will be the member whose panel is awarded the highest score (max score = 20).
  2. In the event of more than one entrant gaining the highest score, the judge will be asked to choose the outright winner.
  3. The winner of the Advanced category is awarded the Allington Trophy.
  4. The winner of the Intermediate category is awarded a Certificate of Merit.



Photographers of the Year Award
  1. The 5 qualifying competitions are the 4 rounds of Internal Club Print and PDI competitions and the Three Print Challenge competition.
  2. All scores from each competition will be added together to give a final aggregate score.
  3. For the Intermediate category, this award will be made to the member with the highest aggregate score (maximum score = 180).
  4. For the Advanced category, this award will be made to the member with the highest aggregate score (maximum score = 180).
  5. In the event of a tie, the member with the highest number of images scoring 10 or 9.5 or 9...etc wins.
  6. The Intermediate category winner will be awarded the Intermediate Photographer of the Year medal.
  7. The Advanced category winner will be awarded the Club Photographer of the Year trophy.
