With the virus lockdown we have all had to limit movement to our local area for necessities and exercise but that doesn't mean we can't find photographic opportunities on our doorstep. Architecture from Exposure to Edit - Richard O'Brien - Via ZOOM. Starting Time: 7:30pm

Richard will guide us through the kind of images he take and what to look for when shooting both internal and external architecture.He will cover the gear used and why he uses it, along with some useful tip and tricks to help get the shot, especially in crowded locations.In the second half of the Richard will do a live demonstration (all questions welcome) editing some of the images using a combination of Lightroom Classic and Photoshop CC.All of this is from the point of view of an amateur photographer, but a professional IT and Photoshop instructor.

Principles of Photography - Phil Savoie - Via Zoom. Starting Time: 7:30pm

Create images with impact! A photographic journey of self-improvement. Learn how to up your photo game with award-winning cameraman Phil Savoie. This talk covers topics not often discussed from the science of our vision, lens testing & optical physics, eyeline and the psychology of perspective as well as the odd location war story. The thrust of Principles of Photography is to share easy, practical shooting methods resulting in a noticeable improvement straight away. The aim is to educate, increase visual intelligence and inspire while having fun doing it. Pro tips for participants to grow as photographers- to produce higher image quality, advance storytelling and develop artistic acumen. Illustrated with local British images, covering all genres from landscape to sport, wildlife, people and astrophotography. Approximately 60 minutes, 10-minute break, 60 minutes with Q&A.

Just close your eyes and think of England. What does it mean to you ? What other country could possibly have come up with place names like Tooting Bec and Farleigh Wallop, have given us William Shakespeare, pork pies, Gardeners' Question Time and the chocolate digestive biscuit? None, of course. Here are some photographers who have tackled this theme.
